Funding: National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) - Clemente Estable Fund (FCE) Duration: 24 months Impacts of the transition to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Colombia Group I (Public Interest Entities) The objective of the project is to identify the degree of implementation in the convergence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the difficulties, and the accounting, economic, financial, technological, and administrative impacts on Colombian companies classified in Group I: Public interest entities (companies listed on the stock market). This project is being carried out in collaboration with César López Ávila, Full Professor at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, Colombia. Project Leader: Norma Pontet, Professor of Management Accounting, and César López Ávila Funding: Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, Colombia Duration: 24 months PROJECTS INITIATED IN 2013 Institute of Education Study on prospects for achieving better learning opportunities for children, adolescents, and youth in Latin America and the Caribbean The purpose of the project is to conduct a study to achieve better learning opportunities for children, adolescents, and youth in Latin America and the Caribbean by analyzing the main challenges, structural foundations, and options for new educational policies. It also aims to support the UNICEF Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean in developing a proposal for a regional seminar to discuss a potential regional agenda on learning. Project Leader: Denise Vaillant, Academic Secretariat of the Institute of Education Funding: United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Duration: 4 months Study of teaching practices and professional teaching skills within the framework of educational inclusion policies in Uruguay The objective of the project is to generate knowledge about the teaching practices and professional teaching skills necessary to respond to new policies on educational quality and inclusion applied to highly socially vulnerable settings in Uruguay’s public primary education system.
