Their documentary “Chess, Private Lessons” was selected as one of eight chosen to be part of “Viewfinder Latin America 2013,” a documentary series organized by Al Jazeera English. She was selected to exhibit her works during the exhibition season at the Simón Bolívar Hall of the Venezuelan Embassy in Montevideo, alongside three other artists. The exhibition, organized by the embassy, took place from August 20 to September 12. August. Guzmán García Rodríguez, Carlos Morelli, and Marcelo Rabuñal, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication; Guillermo Carbonell, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication; Santiago Germano, a graduate of the Technical Program in Digital Animation; and Sebastián Bednarik, a student in the Technical Program in Audiovisual Production. Projects by students, graduates, and faculty members were selected by the Uruguayan Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (ICAU) of the Ministry of Education and Culture to receive support from the Film Promotion Fund in April 2013. “Romeos y Julietas,” presented by Bednarik, with screenplay and direction by García Rodríguez, was selected as a documentary in the “Feature Film” category. The project “Mi mundial,” directed by Morelli, was selected in the “Fiction” category. “Detrás del mito,” presented and directed by Rabuñal, was selected as an Emerging Documentary Telefilm in the “Television Content” category. The short film “La peste,” presented, directed, and written by Carbonell, was selected as a Fiction Short Film in the “Television Content” category. “Mi gato Kepler,” presented, directed, and written by Germano, was selected as an Animated Short Film in the “Television Content” category.
