Projects by graduates and faculty members were selected by the Uruguayan Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (ICAU) of the Ministry of Education and Culture to receive support from the Film Promotion Fund in September 2013. “El sol en invierno,” co-directed by Campo, was selected in the “Documentary Research – Feature Film” category. “Feriados,” by Cilintano and Claudio Quijano, was selected in the “TV Series/Fiction Screenplay” category. “De rotos y descosidos,” presented by Quirici and directed by Hayrabedian, was selected in the “Fiction Feature Film Project Development” category. September. María Eugenia Pérez Burger, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, was awarded one of two scholarships for Uruguay in the 2013 call for applications for the International Graduate Scholarship Program launched by the government of the Republic of Korea. Consequently, Ms. Pérez Burger began her studies in the Master of Fine Arts program at Seoul National University in September 2013. June. Magdalena Cacciavillani, Jimena Castells, and Victoria Stanham Students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. They received the Emerging Leaders in the Americas programme scholarship programme the Government of Canada to complete an academic semester at a Canadian university. August. School of Management and Social Sciences Adriana Cassoni Researcher and professor of Economics and Gaston J. Labadie Dean of the school. The article “The impact of HRM practices on organizational performance: A model and a test for Uruguay,” authored by Labadie and Cassoni, won the “Best Paper” award from Emerald Group Publishing Limited at the “IHRM (International Human Resources Management) Conference,” held at The Pennsylvania State University, United States. May. Damián Farré, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Administration, and Diego Farré, student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Administration. Their company, d2, won the National Quality Award for Micro and Small Businesses for the second consecutive year, awarded by the National Institute of Quality (INACAL), for the level achieved in the implementation of the Quality Management Model.
