Carolina Do Pazo, graduate of the Bachelor’s program in Biotechnology. She was selected in the 2015–2016 call for applications for the British government’s Chevening Scholarships to pursue a master’s degree at a university in the United Kingdom. June. Andrés Levin, graduate of the Systems Engineering program and co-founder of Qoollet; Alejandro Lodziejski, graduate of the Systems Engineering program and founder of Sur3D; Kevin Natanzon, graduate of the Systems Engineering program and co-founder of Al Toque; and Agustín Sartorio, graduate of the Bachelor’s in Systems program and co-founder of UruguayPass and Uruguay 360. They were selected by the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) and the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay to participate in a program for entrepreneurs at the University of California, Berkeley. July. Diego Cazabán, faculty member in the Biotechnology department and graduate of the Bachelor’s program in Biotechnology. He received the Santander Universities scholarship to complete a research internship in July and August at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry at the Autonomous University of Madrid. June. Karen Bauer, a Systems Engineering student, and Joaquín Oldán, a Telecommunications Engineering student. They received the Emerging Leaders in the Americas programme scholarship programme the Government of Canada to spend an academic semester at Université Laval. July. Juan Focco, a Systems Engineering student, and Enzo Monjardín, a Systems Engineering student. They were selected to spend the next semester at the University of Lodz, Poland, as part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ program. December. Kevin Natanzon and Carlos Vega, graduates of the Systems Engineering program. Their startup, Al Toque, incubated at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, received funding from the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) under the “Entrepreneurs” call for proposals, which provides seed capital of up to $25,000 to strengthen the startup’s development.
