She was selected by the Botín Foundation as Uruguay’s representative to participate in the Program for Strengthening the Civil Service in Latin America. July. Alejandro Esperanza, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and founder of the startup Gurucargo, and Marcelo Wilkorwsky, co-founder of Oincs, a startup supported by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. They were selected among the top ten innovators under 35 in the 2016 MIT Technology Review. September. Daniela Kaiser, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies. She was selected by the British Government’s Chevening Scholarships program to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. August. School of Architecture La Casa Uruguaya designed by students and faculty from all schools of the university, was recognized in the Buildings category of the National Energy Efficiency Award organized annually by the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining. November. Bettina Angeloni, Teo Corp, and Emilio Viaño, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, and Flavio Morán, full professor of Equipment Design. Their project Vaivencibles was the winner in the Urban Mobility category of the Urban Interventions Festival competition organized by the Municipality of Montevideo. November. Carolina Cesio, graduate of the Interior Design program. Her project, Espacio Hub, won the First Golden Pencil Award from Paula magazine at the 2016 La Casa de Arte y Diseño design and interior design exhibition. November. Additionally, Sofía Ruiz, a graduate of the Interior Design program, received a Special Mention in Spatial Design for her Master Suite proposal. November. AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS 2016
