72 2016 Yearbook Image Recognition for Agriculture Authors: Brandon Assandri, Santiago Estragó, Diego Méndez, and Ignacio Robayna Organization: Quanam This project arose from the need expressed by agricultural producers for highly accurate diagnoses of the problems their crops may face, as well as for valid, professional, and up-to-date information. To address this issue, the team developed a functional prototype consisting of two applications: a mobile app for end users and an administrative website. The mobile app is used to consult and receive an estimated diagnosis of the disease affecting a crop, along with useful information, recommended actions, and a list of advisors who can be contacted. It also features a section with historical reports of diagnosed diseases and a phytopathological map that allows producers and advisors to access up-to-date information and optimize the time and quality of their conclusions. The website, for internal use at Quanam, presents a cognitive image recognition model that enables the management of diseases as well as user management. Degree: Bachelor’s in Systems Advisor: Pablo Hernández Development and Usability Evaluation of Software for an Intraoperative Medical Device Authors: Pablo Arreche and Verónica Arreche Organization: Project F, a company created to carry out a research and development project co-funded by the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII). This thesis is part of a research context focused on the usability of intraoperative medical devices that lead to greater surgical success. It consists of developing software for a touchscreen device whose features include: acquiring images in the visible and near-infrared spectrum, providing the ability to perform real-time image processing, quantifying regions of interest, and overlaying both spectra.
