66 2017 Yearbook STUDENT PROJECTS WITH EXTERNAL ORGANIZATIONS 2017 SCADA System Graphic Migration Authors: Andrés Martínez and Renato Moraes Organization: UTE A SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system is software that allows for the remote monitoring, control, and supervision of industrial processes from a computer screen. SCADA’s mission is to facilitate real-time feedback with field devices such as sensors and actuators, automatically controlling the process. The objective of this project was to migrate the graphical representation of the networks for the Canelones and Florida departments. Degree Program: Systems Engineering Advisor: José Szyman, Eng. Simple Check Ins: communication tool for development teams Authors: Pablo Briuzis, Agustín Martínez, and Bruno Nocetti Organization: 1950 Labs This project, carried out for the software factory 1950 Labs, which provides custom software sales services, aimed to create a web application that supports communication among development team members when certain factors hinder it. It addresses situations where team members are located in different places, do not share the same availability schedules for projects, or have different employment relationships with the company—as they may be full-time employees or freelance contractors. Teams with these characteristics face various challenges, including the inability to hold in-person meetings and the difficulty in tracking project progress and status, which hinders the collection of metrics. Simple Check Ins is a tool that facilitates interaction among users, records developers’ progress in a uniform and simultaneous manner, standardizes reports without direct intervention from a project manager, and provides an environment where it is possible to raise issues, receive suggestions, and share resolution strategies.
