72 2017 Yearbook OUTREACH ACTIVITIES 2017 School of Engineering 2017 School of Engineering Project Fair On March 22 and November 11, two sessions of the Project Fair were held at the School of Engineering, aimed at students in the Software Analyst and Programmer, Information Technology Analyst, Bachelor of Systems, and Systems Engineering programs. Students chose from more than 30 proposals with academic or research value to develop as their final-year projects. For participating companies and institutions, such as 1950 Labs, Ascentis, Berkes, Dinámica Consultores, Equipos Consultores, Ganado 360, Gerdau Laisa, Kinamic, SimDesign, and VR Studio, this event provides an opportunity to engage students with their proposals and recruit talent. Girls in ICT Day To promote women’s participation in technology careers, Girls in ICT Day took place on April 27, a global initiative promoted by the International Telecommunication Union. As part of this event, the School of Engineering organized two workshops: “App Inventor,” led by Dr. Inés Kereki, professor of Programming; and “Robotics,” led by Eng. Mariana Derderian, professor of Linear Algebra. Students from the 11th and 12th grades at José Pedro Varela and Elbio Fernández high schools participated.
