They visited the university along with a group of 16 students from Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts as part of their GA Tech Argentina Summer programme study abroad program, which included activities in Argentina and Uruguay. Brandon Muramatsu (United States), Associate Director, Special Projects, Open Learning, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). They visited the university and met with Eng. Julio Fernández, Vice Rector; Dr. Gaston Labadie, Dean of the School of Management and Social Sciences; Eng. Mario Fernández, Dean of the School of Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Víctor Paulós, Academic Secretary of the School of Engineering, and Dr. Fernando Paganini, Professor of Telecommunications Theory, May 16. Dr. Hazel Sive (United States) Professor in the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She delivered the lecture “Problem-based versus project-based curriculum,” May 20. Dr. Paul Alonso (United States) Associate Professor, School of Modern Languages, Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, Georgia Institute of Technology. He visited the university and met with Dis. Oscar Aguirre, Academic Secretary of the School of Design; Sabrina Bianchi, M.A., Assistant Academic Secretary of the School of Communication; Victoria González, B.A., Assistant Graduate Coordinator of the Faculty of Engineering; and Dr. María Azpiroz, Director of International Relations, to explore possibilities for collaboration and the design of academic and cultural programs, October 4. Dr. Andy Hargreaves (United States) Professor Emeritus, Teacher Education, Special Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Boston College. He met with Dr. Jorge Grünberg, rector , along with Miguel Brechner, president of Plan Ceibal, and other education specialists. Dr. Denise Vaillant, Academic Secretary of the Institute of Education, and Mag. Andrea Tejera, Academic Coordinator of the Master’s in Educational Management, participated in the event on November 5. Dr. Leticia Yulita (United Kingdom), Director of International Relations at the School of Politics, Philosophy, Languages, and Communication at the University of East Anglia.
