92 2019 Yearbook Dr. Virginia Robano (Chile) Researcher in the field of economics. She presented the paper “Public procurement as a driver of innovation and entrepreneurship” 18 at the Annual Meeting of the Chilean Economic Society (SECHI 2019), organized by the University of Los Andes, Santiago, Chile, on September 12 and 13. Dr. Nicolás Gambetta (Chile) Academic Coordinator of Graduate Programs in Accounting and Taxation. He participated as a keynote speaker at the 35th National Meeting of Schools and Faculties of Administration in Chile (ENEFA 2019), titled “Challenges under the Sustainable Development Goals and New Ways of Understanding Management,” which took place at the University of La Frontera, Pucón, November 6–8. 18 Conducted alongside Dr. Andrea Bentancor, Assistant Professor of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Talca, Chile, and Gustavo Crespi, Economist and Head of the Competitiveness and Innovation Division at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), United States. Dr. Norma Pontet (Colombia) Professor of Management Accounting and Academic Coordinator of Finance Programs. She gave a presentation on the use of case studies in accounting education for faculty members of the Accounting Department at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente (UAO), Cali, on February 27. She also delivered the lecture “Skills of the Public Accountant for 2030” at the 10th Symposium on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS): “Accounting Outlook in the Digital Age and Sustainability,” organized by the UAO, Cali, February 28 to March 2. She also participated in the 33rd Inter-American Accounting Conference as vice president of the Accounting Research Commission of the Inter-American Accounting Association, spoke on the panel “Research in International Accounting: Evidence and Challenges of the Application of International Financial Reporting Standards 15 and 16 in Argentina, Colombia, and Uruguay,” and presented the book *Fundamentals and Reflections on Accounting Theory*, of which she is a co-author, Cartagena de Indias, October 19–22. Dr. Néstor Gandelman (Colombia) Academic Coordinator of Economics. He presented the article “Cash and Crime” at the 10th Workshop on Poverty and Inequality organized by RIDGE (Research Institute for Development, Growth, and Economics) and LACEA (Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association), held at EAFIT University (School of Administration, Finance, and Technology), Medellín, May 22–23. 19 Co-authored with Dr. Ignacio Munyo, director of the Grant Thornton Center for Economics at the IEEM Business School of the University of Montevideo, and Emanuel Schertz, research assistant at the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences of Universidad ORT Uruguay a senior student in the Bachelor’s program in Economics.
