94 2019 Yearbook Dr. Nicolás Gambetta (Spain) Academic Coordinator of the Graduate Programs in Accounting and Taxation. He presented the paper “The determinants of key audit matters quality; clear or foggy communication?” at the 33rd Annual Congress of the European Academy of Management and Business Economics, held at Pablo de Olavide University in Seville from June 5 to 7. He also presented the article “The potential of listed companies in Latin America to finance the Sustainable Development Goals” at the 12th Spanish Conference on Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR Spain), held at the Public University of Navarra, Pamplona, September 12–14. He also undertook a brief research stay at the University of Valencia to work with Dr. María Antonia García-Benau, Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting, on the project regarding the new audit report and its key issues, commissioned by the Institute of Accounting and Auditing of the Spanish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and the Spanish Association of University Professors of Accounting, in Valencia, from September 20 to 24. In addition, she presented the article “The potential of listed companies in Latin America to finance the sustainable development goals” on September 22 at the 20th International Congress of the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration (AECA), Málaga, September 25–27. 21 Conducted in collaboration with Dr. Inés García Fronti, researcher in Sustainability and Developing Countries and professor of Accounting at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina; Dr. Valeska Geldres Weiss, dean of the Faculty of Legal and Business Sciences at the University of La Frontera, Chile; Dr. Mauricio Gómez Villegas, associate professor at the National University of Colombia; and Dr. Marcela Jaramillo, research professor at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, all of whom are research members of the AECA Ibero-American Chapter, which Dr. Gambetta directed during the 2018–2019 term. 22 Conducted together with Dr. Inés García Fronti, researcher in Sustainability and Developing Countries and professor of Accounting at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina; Dr. Valeska Geldres Weiss, dean of the Faculty of Legal and Business Sciences at the University of La Frontera, Chile; Dr. Mauricio Gómez Villegas, associate professor at the National University of Colombia; and Dr. Marcela Jaramillo, research professor at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, all of whom are research members of the AECA Ibero-American Chapter, which Dr. Gambetta led during the 2018–2019 term. He presented the paper “Exit, Voice, and Social Contract in the Contemporary Cuban Diaspora” at the 12th Conference on Cuban and Cuban-American Studies, held at Florida International University, Miami, on February 14 and 15. He also participated as a panelist in the session “End of an Era? Uruguay’s Unexpectedly Close Election” on the Uruguayan elections, held at the Wilson Center with the support of Johns Hopkins University, the Center for the Study of Contemporary Open Societies (CESCOS), and Universidad ORT Uruguay, Washington, D.C., on September 24.
