Their designs were selected, for the second consecutive year, to illustrate the notebooks sold by Montevideo Shopping in support of “Feeling Good Is the Best Start,” an awareness campaign and initiative to support the educational efforts of the Honorary Commission for the Fight Against Cancer. October. Fernando Díaz, Vicente Lamónaca, and Martín Sommaruga, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. Their Rotunda typeface was selected as a finalist in the 2021 typeface competition held by Communications Arts magazine in California, United States. October. Additionally, their Fieldwork typeface was selected to participate in the 7th Ibero-American Design Biennial held in Madrid, Spain. November. Carolina Curbelo, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and a faculty member at the School of Design. Her project “Mujeres con calle,” which maps the streets in Montevideo named after women, was selected for presentation at the 7th Ibero-American Design Biennial. November. Fabricio Danza, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Animation and Video Games, and Victoria Grünberg, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Animation and Video Games. Danza’s video game Battle Kings and Grünberg’s Yule were selected in the Video Games/Emerging Profile category by the 2020 Competitive Funds for Culture. November. Federico Russi, a graduate of the Advertising Analyst program. Appointed president of the jury for the El Ojo de Iberoamérica advertising festival in the Brand Experience and Activation category. November. Aparicio Ponce de León, professor in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication program. He was appointed as the new director of the Secretariat of Institutional Communication of the Presidency of the Republic and presidential spokesperson. March.
