69 OUTREACH ACTIVITIES 2020 Department of Jewish Studies Teacher Training Course - Shoah: The Human Condition and Memory The Department of Jewish Studies organized the ninth edition of the course *Shoah: The Human Condition and Memory*, which was attended by humanities teachers from public secondary schools and educators from the non-formal education sector. The course, which took place on September 10, 17, and 24; October 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29; and November 5, aimed to introduce teachers to relevant aspects of the Shoah (Jewish Holocaust) and related concepts, such as human rights, genocide, and memory. The program was declared of ministerial interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and of educational interest by the Secondary Education Council. ORT and B’nai B’rith collaborated with Mayo Amarillo, a foundation dedicated to preventing traffic accidents. Two groups of students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and the Graphic Design program, mentored by Profs. Vicente Lamónaca, Ramiro Ozer Ami, and Lautaro Hourcade from the School of Communication and Design, worked on poster designs to support the non-governmental organization Mayo Amarillo in raising awareness about the importance of preventing traffic accidents. The jury decided that the winning poster, created by student Camila Gómez, would be selected as the central piece for the awareness campaign for Mayo Amarillo Uruguay 2020.
