70 2020 Yearbook 2020 OUTREACH ACTIVITIES Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship #HackCovid19 The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Da Vinci Labs business incubator of the Da Vinci Foundation, launched #HackCovid19 in April, an international call for proposals to find solutions to the many problems caused by the coronavirus in the community. This initiative was supported by the University Agency for Entrepreneurship Management at the University of Costa Rica, and from Córdoba, Argentina, through the FIDE Incubator (City of Córdoba, National University of Córdoba, and Córdoba Regional Technological University) and the Business Incubator of the National University of Córdoba. This activity was supported by the National Development Agency (ANDE), IBM, AEternity Blockchain (æternity), El País, and the IDB Lab. Cognivalley On July 23, the virtual event Cognivalley took place, a gathering of practitioners created with the purpose of sharing knowledge on innovative practices for teaching and learning. The event was organized by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship with the participation of the University of the Republic, the Catholic University of Uruguay, the University of Montevideo, and the Technological University of Uruguay, and was supported by the National Development Agency (ANDE). The event brought together educators, researchers, coaches, learning facilitators, leaders in human development, and others interested in exploring best learning practices for the new educational context. AI Challenge The AI Challenge was an open innovation event designed to raise awareness and provide training on artificial intelligence technology, and to foster the emergence of startups that use this tool as a competitive advantage. The event, co-organized with IBM and Thales Lab, brought together national and international technology leaders for a day-long session to discuss topics related to innovation, business models, and technological challenges. A total of 489 attendees participated.
