71 OUTREACH ACTIVITIES 2020 Entrepreneurial Arena In October, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) and the CirComedia Company organized the Entrepreneurial Arena workshop, a series of sessions aimed at women with an entrepreneurial spirit that combined tools and knowledge from the entrepreneurial ecosystem with activities, games, and training from the worlds of circus and theater. A total of 365 women, aged 18 to 60, from both Montevideo and the rest of the country participated in the program. The series provided digital tools to help each participant understand their business needs, develop innovative solutions (design thinking), and apply them directly to their entrepreneurial idea. The workshop was held as part of the National Development Agency’s (ANDE) Support for Activities to Foster an Entrepreneurial Culture initiative and was supported by Ingenio, the Technological University of Uruguay (UTEC), and YouHub. Faculty of Engineering 2020 Faculty of Engineering Project Fairs On March 11, August 26 and 31, and September 1, 2, and 3, the Faculty of Engineering Project Fairs were held, featuring the Systems Engineering, Bachelor of Systems, and Programmer Analyst programs. Students chose from more than 30 proposals with academic or research value to develop in their final-year projects. For participating companies and institutions—including Ánima Bachillerato Tecnológico, Arkano, December Labs, Gerdau, Montevideo Labs, Movistar, Naxon Labs, Prometeo, Rootstrap, Security Advisor, SimDesign, Technisys, Urudata Software, and UTE / Centro Tecnológico ICT4V—this was an opportunity to spark students’ interest in their proposals and projects and to recruit talent.
