Prof. Balaban was born in Buenos Aires and has lived in Israel since 1967. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Haifa and a Master’s degree with honors from the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Humanities at the same university. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Tel Aviv University. He has been honored by the Israel Science Foundation and has received the Award for Teaching Excellence from the Technion Institute of Israel on a dozen occasions. He is the author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and of several books, including “Interpreting Conflict – The Israeli-Palestinian Negotiation at Camp David II and Beyond,” New York, Peter Lang Publisher, 2005.
