The festival program included a screening of the film “Despite Treblinka,” directed by Gerardo Stawsky and produced by Universidad ORT Uruguay 2002). (Sunday, the 6th). In connection with this film, the Coordinator of the Department of Jewish Studies, David Telias, gave a lecture/workshop titled “Like Sheep to the Slaughter? Jewish Resistance and Resisters of the Shoah” with the screening of excerpts (Monday, 7).
For his part, Prof. Luis Elbert Kaplan, a faculty member in the School of Communication and Design, gave a lecture on cinema and anti-Semitism, featuring clips from the film (Sunday, the 6th).
David Telias also participated in a roundtable discussion on “Memory, Culture, and Human Rights” alongside Argentine Judge Daniel Rafecas and actress Soledad Silveyra (Tuesday, the 8th).
