The workshop lasts 20 hours and is conducted via a Moodle platform that is easily accessible to students.
The workshop program includes:
1 - Introduction to the course’s Virtual Classroom (the platform).
2 - Introduction to innovation. The concept of innovation. Types of innovation. The innovation process. The importance of innovation for development and competitiveness in Latin America.
3 - Innovation from a systemic perspective. The National Innovation System. Some definitions (Lundvall, Freeman, Nelson, Patel, and Pavitt). The concept of "clusters," business conglomerates, or groupings (Porter). The Sábato-Botana Triangle. The Triple Helix model of interactions between universities, government, and businesses (Etzkowitz). The role of the innovative university in innovation processes.
4- The innovative university and the entrepreneurial university. How is an innovative university defined? What is meant by an entrepreneurial university? Mechanisms for linking the university to its environment. Understanding its role in economic and social development. Components of an innovative university: structures, functions, processes, and resources. Creating innovative universities. Challenges for their transformation and development.
Mariani holds an MBA from Universidad ORT Uruguay a Bachelor’s degree in Systems. He teaches Business Planning in the School of Engineering. He serves as a thesis advisor for the Bachelor’s in Management and Administration program and the MBA program in the School of Administration and Social Sciences. has 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, having held positions as a Pre-Sales Engineer, Data Center and Technology Manager, Architecture, Operations, and Services Manager, Consultant, and Project Manager at both national and international companies.
Solari holds a degree in Systems Engineering from Universidad ORT Uruguay. He holds a Diploma in Advanced Studies from the joint Doctoral Program in Computer Engineering atUniversidad ORT Uruguay the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He is currently working on his doctoral thesis in the field of experimental software engineering within the framework of the same program. He is a former fellow of the Carolina Foundation, the Programme the Ministry of Education and Culture, the ANII, and the European Union’s Erasmus Mundus program.
