This film chronicles the lives of three survivors of that extermination camp, who took part in the heroic uprising and escape from Treblinka—an event that has come to symbolize human resistance against Nazi barbarism.
In April 2002, "A pesar de Treblinka" won the "Special Jury Mention" award in the Documentary category at the "20th Film Festival" organized by the Uruguayan Film Archive. Meanwhile, the Uruguayan Film Critics Association named Gerardo Stawsky "Revelation of the Year 2002" for directing this documentary.
