The contest is organized by Antel and the Montevideo City Government, and the winning project will be announced in November 2013.
A total of 73 proposals were submitted.
Antel Arena will be designed as a multifunctional stadium featuring state-of-the-art construction and equipment to host concerts and sporting events.
For its part, the project submitted by a team that included, among others, architect Flavio Morán, a professor in the Bachelor’s program in Interior Design, received second honorable mention in the competition.
Morán’s team consists of:
- Architect Jorge Casaravilla.
- Bettina Angeloni, a student in the Bachelor's Degree program in Interior Design and Architecture.
- Alejandro Arcardini, a student in the Bachelor's Degree Program in Interior Design and Architecture.
- Ovidio Caballero, Tenured Professor and Advisor on Acoustic Design at the school.
- Teo Corp, a student in the Bachelor's Degree Program in Interior Design and Architecture.
- Valentina Perdomo, a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in interior design.
- Emilio Viaño, a student in the Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program.
- Jessica Yacono, a student in the Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design program.
- Martín Rebollo, a former student in the Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design program, who is currently pursuing his degree at the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires.
