The Chacras de Cerro Místico competition was launched as a proposal by Estudio FDS Arquitectos (led by architect Facundo de Souza) to design a project for self-sustaining homes in the department of Lavalleja, four kilometers from the city of Minas.
The homes were to measure approximately 250 square meters and incorporate bioclimatic and technological aspects of sustainability, while also taking into account their relationship with the surrounding landscape and energy resources. The plots of land designated for this development are owned by the Cerro Místico hotel venture.
The faculty members in charge of the project are Architect Roberto Monteagudo, Architect Verónica Bayssé, and Architect Daniel Calzada.
The winning projects were as follows:
- "Green on Pillars," by Victoria Muñoz and Mariana Severi.
- "25af.", by Santiago Daglio and Rodrigo Ciapessoni.
- "Into the Wild," by Mélissa Ruel, Thibaut Dury, and Anthony Primpier.
The projects that received honorable mentions were as follows:
- "Aura," by Andrea Chiacchio and Mariana Salvarrey.
- "House on the Rocks," by Victoria Fernández and María José Palomino.
- "APS," by Ani Jamgotchian and Julieta Saccone.
The Hyatt-Residence competition originated as an idea from the architectural firm Weiss Sztryk Weiss (WSW) to design the preliminary plan for this residential complex located on the Rambla in Montevideo. The properties involved are owned by the firm.
The objective was to conduct an academic exercise with real-world implications in the real estate sector and to consider all regulatory and morphological aspects, while promoting research into possible
architectural and urban planning solutions.
This project was also supervised by professors Roberto Monteagudo, Verónica Bayssé, and Daniel Calzada, all architects.
The winning project was as follows:
- "Kubo," by Federico Agrello and Santiago Chaer.
The projects that received honorable mentions were:
- "Alfa 7," by Sebastián Amorelli and Alejandro Varangot.
- "Kiko and El Chavo," by Federico López and Andrés Iglesias.
