Seminar: "The International Real Estate Market"

On Thursday, May 28, 2015, the seminar "The International Real Estate Market" was held at the School of Architecture. The speakers discussed the global, regional, and local landscape of real estate investment.

Conferences:

The global situation.
- “The Real Estate Business at the Global and Regional Levels,” presented by Cr. Daniel Porcaro.

Cr. Porcaro is a managing partner at Fidential Servicios Fiduciarios. He is an independent consultant at Porcaro Consultores. He is a member of the Uruguayan Institute of Tax Studies and the Inter-American Accounting Association. He is a member of the International Fiscal Association. He is a tenured professor of The International Real Estate Market, Alternative Investment and Financing Instruments, and Real Estate Taxation at the School of Architecture. He is the academic coordinator of the Specialization Diploma in Real Estate Business.

- “Eight Years After the NINJA Crisis: What Is the Current State of the International Real Estate Market?”, presented by Guillaume Sainpy, Lic.

Mr. Sainpy holds a Master’s degree in Multinational Business Management from the University of Deusto, Spain. He is the Director of Investments and Corporate Affairs at Julio Villamide & Asociados. He is the Director of Investment and Corporate Affairs at AOS Studley (Spain). He is a consultant for Carlyle, Samsung, Saint-Gobain, and Danone. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

The regional situation: Argentina
- “The Buenos Aires Real Estate Market and Its Outlook” (via Skype), presented by Architect Damian Tabakman.

Architect Tabakman holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the School of Architecture at the University of Buenos Aires. He is the director of Compañía de Buenos Aires, a company dedicated to real estate investments in Argentina. He is the coordinator of the Real Estate Graduate Programs at Torcuato Di Tella University and ESADE, Argentina.

The Regional Situation: Paraguay
- “The Real Estate Market in Asunción, Paraguay” (via Skype), presented by Ricardo Avalos, Lic.

Ricardo Avalos, Lic., holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Emporia State University in Kansas. He is the founder of Canopy, a consulting firm specializing in the development, management, administration, and brokerage of real estate projects. He is a professor in the Real Estate Business Certificate Program at the Universidad Pacífico in Asunción, Paraguay.

The situation in Uruguay
- “Economic Variables and Real Estate in Uruguay,” presented by Alfonso Capurro, Ec.

Mr. Capurro holds a Master of Science in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University in Spain. He is a senior manager in the Economics Department at CPA Ferrere. He is an independent consultant to private companies, financial institutions, and public sector agencies. He previously served as a consultant and researcher at the Center for Economic Research (CINVE).
