Academics presented papers at the 31st Inter-American Accounting Conference

Nicolás Gambetta, CPA, academic coordinator of the Graduate Programs in Accounting and Taxation; Dr. Norma Pontet, professor of Management Accounting; and Lourdes Volpi, professor of Administrative Processes and Information Systems at the School of Administration and Social Sciences and academic coordinator of the Public Accountant program, presented papers at the 31st Inter-American Accounting Conference: Toward a Standardized Profession with Quality and Ethical Values, which took place from September 17 to 20, 2015, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

This peer-reviewed conference was organized by the Inter-American Accounting Association, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of the Dominican Republic, and the International Federation of Accountants.

The papers presented were:

- "The Use of Audit Quality Indicators in Monitoring Professional Practice in Latin America" by Cr. Gambetta and Dr. Carlos Leguizamón, partner at Contadores & Auditores Asociados (Conaudit), Paraguay.

- “Analysis of Impairment: Causes and Consequences for Intangible Assets and Goodwill” by Dr. Pontet and Dr. Francisco Pintos, member of the Accounting Research Commission of the Inter-American Accounting Association, Bolivia.

- “Management Challenges of Innovation: A Practical Approach” by Cra. Volpi and Soledad Silvera, independent consultant.

The articles were accepted for presentation at this conference on July 5, 2015.
