Jidón Contest 2015: Israel: 100 Years (1915–2015)

On October 18, 2015, the Pocitos Campus hosted “Jidón 2015: Nelly and Nahum Bergstein. Israel: 100 Years (1915–2015),” a quiz competition on the theme of Israel’s centennial, aimed at young people aged 15 to 19 in both formal and non-formal education. The prize was a one-week trip to Israel.
Rafael Winter, Lic., was in charge of coordinating the competition. The judging panel consisted of Roberto Cyjon, Ing., former president of the Central Israeli Committee of Uruguay; Ana Ribeiro, Ph.D., historian and professor at the Faculty of Humanities at the Catholic University of Uruguay; and Ramiro Rodríguez Villamil, Ph.D., co-founder of the weekly newspaper *Búsqueda* and former director of Radio Sarandí.

The event was organized by the Bergstein family and the university’s Department of Jewish Studies.
