Publication of the book *The Gurméndez List: The Uruguayan Oskar Schindler*

In September 2015, Ediciones de la Plaza published the book *La lista Gurméndez: el Oskar Schindler uruguayo* by Isac Gliksberg, a journalist and writer for *El Semanario Hebreo*. The publication was supported by Universidad ORT Uruguay.
The book recounts an incident that took place in the Netherlands in 1940, in which the then-Uruguayan ambassador to the Netherlands, Dr. Carlos Gurméndez, played a central role. Risking his own safety and that of his family, he saved the lives of more than twenty people, most of whom were Jewish.
