The GPSGAY app took first place at Seedstars World Uruguay

December 30, 2015
The GPSGAY app, created by Magdalena Rodríguez, a graduate of the Bachelor of Graphic Design program, and Rosario Monteverde, a graduate of the Systems Engineering program, took first place among the 11 finalists in the first edition of Seedstars World Uruguay, which took place in December 2015 at Sinergia.

The finalists will participate in another phase of the Seedstars World competition on March 3, 2016, in Switzerland, where workshops will be held between participants and international mentors, and on the final day they will present their startups to investors. The projects will compete for an investment of up to US$500,000.

During the Uruguay stage, the startups presented a pitch to the jury with the aim of highlighting the advantages they offer and their global profitability.

Seedstars, headquartered in Geneva, is a platform that connects investors with young entrepreneurs in markets outside of Silicon Valley and Western Europe.

GPSGAY is a Uruguayan social network aimed at the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community.

The development of this app was supported by the CIE (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship).
