Exhibition: “Architectural Projects for Piriápolis and Punta del Este”

April 21, 2016
From April 12 to May 2, 2016, an exhibition of architectural projects created by students in the "Project 9" course of the Architecture program will be held in the lobby of the School of Architecture (2633 España Blvd.). The exhibition features the winning entries from a preliminary design ideas competition held during the academic year, focusing on architectural solutions for a cultural center and a shopping mall.

The competition called for the exploration of possible architectural solutions based on two alternatives: a shopping center in Punta del Este and a cultural center and media library in Piriápolis, with the goal of conducting an academic exercise with real-world implications.

It takes into account regulatory and morphological aspects and promotes the exploration of possible architectural and urban planning solutions to develop a high-quality proposal that is relevant to the site.

The course instructors are:

Project and development: Architect Roberto Monteagudo, Architect Verónica Bayssé, and Architect Daniel Calzada.
Teaching assistants: Architect Sebastián Corrales, Architect Inés Fernández, and Architect Bruno Pedreira.
Construction: Architect Luis Rodríguez Tellado and Architect Fernando Cano.
Structural Engineering: Architect Ramiro Chaer.
Plumbing: Engineer Milka Maneiro
Lighting and Electrical Systems: Engineer Axel Wansart
HVAC and Ventilation: Architect Juan Pedro Merlino

Admission is free.
