Exhibition: “The Semantics of the Object—Sunglasses”

December 23, 2016
From December 1 to 9, 2016, the exhibition “Semantics of the Object – Sunglasses” was held in the lobby of the School of Design within the Faculty of Communication and Design. The exhibition was organized by fourth-year Industrial Design students in the Bachelor of Industrial Design program.

The projects focused on the conceptualization and design of sunglasses, with the participation of María Emilia Tato Lamaison, who oversees the Je suis – Óptica Lamaison line of handmade eyewear.

The students analyzed a social subgroup, identifying its social values and cultural trends to inform the design of new products, applying the concepts of product semantics and symbolic value. The projects adhered to the guidelines of an existing brand. The formal models were displayed in full scale.

Participating students:
Marcela Balladares, Gonzalo Barbat, Tatiana Benchoam, Martín Brum, Federica Fernández, Gerónimo Ruzo, Rosina Santos, and Gonzalo Fabio Villano.
