A particularly distinctive aspect of Jewish tradition is the veneration of memory. From the celebration of holidays that commemorate collective events that took place more than 3,000 years ago to the veneration of departed loved ones through prayer several times a year, the act of remembrance is an intrinsic part of the Jewish experience.
Creating a space for remembrance in a community center involves practicing the veneration of memory. It means giving NCI members the opportunity to perpetuate the lives of their loved ones, not only within the confined space of family intimacy but also within the broader scope of the community.
The speakers at the launch were:
- Architect Gastón Boero, dean of the faculty and tenured professor of Project 1.
- Rabbi Daniel Dolinsky, rabbi of the NCI.
- David Telias, community director of the NCI and professor of Contemporary International History at the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences.
