On November 27, the lecture “SCRUM—An Agile Work Method Focused on Rapid Results That Businesses Need” was held in the Engineering School Auditorium. The lecture was presented by Assistant Professor Gabriel Ledesma, a faculty member at the school. The event was organized by the School of Technology.
Assistant Professor Ledesma has more than a decade of experience in software development. In recent years, he has worked with various project management methodologies for mission-critical IT projects. He holds an international SCRUM certification, “Scrum Master Certified.” He serves as a senior consultant on IT projects, specializing in enterprise and B2B development using agile methods. He is a consultant for MEVIR (Movement for the Eradication of Substandard Rural Housing). He has spoken at various conferences on the use of open-source software in business-critical systems.
The session aimed to provide a concrete introduction to SCRUM as an agile methodology for project development, describing the principles on which it is based, the roles involved, and the workflow. The speaker cited practical examples drawn from recent international conferences led by experts who have been using SCRUM for several years, with whom he was able to interact.
