On May 27, the lecture "Digital and Interactive Art, Pratt University, New York" was held in the Auditorium of the School of Communication and Design, presented by Prof. Peter Patchen, Chair of the Department of Digital Arts atPratt University.
The speaker is a digital artist and educator who has exhibited internationally. He earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Oregon in Eugene. In 1993, he founded the Cyber Arts (now New Media) program at the University of Toledo. His recent work includes interactive multimedia installations that utilize alternative interfaces such as light sensors, barcode scanners, water, and motion detectors. He has exhibited at the Beecher Center for Technology in the Arts at the ButlerInstitute of American Art. He has receivedthe International Digital Art Award (Melbourne), Siggraph Art Exhibitions, the Luco Film Festival (Rome), the Kalisaar Computer Art Exposition ( Tel Aviv), and various other solo and group exhibitions.
The speaker discussed the latest trends in design, animation, and digital art, and shared his experience at Pratt University.
