On Thursday, September 2, a conference as part of the “Emprendedores en Red” series took place at the ORT Centro Auditorium, featuring Florencia Domínguez, director of Penny Lane, and Rosario Terra, head of marketing at Punta Carretas Shopping. This series, organized by the Ferrere Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, is a forum where entrepreneurs, companies, and support organizations come together to propose business ideas, connect with one another, and build a network of strategic contacts that make entrepreneurship possible.
Domínguez is a student in the Fashion Design program at ORT University and the creator of the Penny Lane brand, which has been on the market for over three years. The brand’s manifesto states: “Those with style can certainly embrace fashion or ignore it. For them, fashion is not something to be followed, but rather something to be set. Style is spontaneous, timeless, and independent of fashion.”
Terra is responsible for organizing the Lúmina event, which takes place every year in March at Punta Carretas Shopping and recognizes the best fashion startups with internships, trips, fashion shows, promotion, and entrepreneurial support.
