"1st Conference on the Shoah: Memory, Education, and the Future. In Honor of Simon Wiesenthal"

On November 15, the "1st Conference on the Shoah: Memory, Education, and the Future—In Honor of Simon Wiesenthal" was held at the ORT Pocitos Auditorium. The event was organized by the Holocaust Remembrance Center and the Hagshamá Department of the Jewish Agency in Uruguay, with the support of the Department of Jewish Studies.

Prof. Isabel Burstein spoke on "Holocaust Denial: An Insult to Memory," and Engineer Roberto Cyjon on "From Forced Conversions to the Shoah... Is It That Simple?" The short film "Pinkus" by Ari Carretero, a student in the Bachelor’s Program in Audiovisual Communication and winner of the top prize at the Très Court Festival in Paris in June, was also screened.
