Dr. Nicolás Gambetta, academic coordinator of the graduate programs in Accounting and Taxation at the School of Administration and Social Sciences, was appointed in April 2018 to head the AECA Carlos Cubillo Chair in Accounting and Auditing—Ibero-American Chapter— for the 2018–2019 term.
Dr. Gambetta presented the project “The Determinants of Latin American Companies’ Disclosures on Sustainable Development Goals,” which won in its category and earned him the appointment.
The competition was open to Spanish university professors, who were required to apply for the Spanish Chapter Chair, and to university professors from any Ibero-American country and Portugal, who were required to apply for the Ibero-American Chapter Chair.
AECA's objectives include the scientific advancement of accounting and business administration, the promotion of scientific research among those involved in these disciplines (professors, civil servants, experts, and business leaders), and the establishment of contacts and knowledge exchanges with other national and international associations and institutions related to business sciences.
This association awards each Chapter of the Chair €6,000 per year to fund the activities outlined in the projects, which include scientific research, academic and professional training activities, and the organization of an annual conference.
