Earlier, they toured the Memorial to the Holocaust of the Jewish People, accompanied by the dean of the School of Architecture and co-designer of the memorial, architect Gastón Boero. During the visit, architect Boero gave a presentation on the project, highlighting its key features, which were the result of a public call for proposals issued by the Uruguayan government in 1993. He also mentioned that the main objective of the work is to encourage introspection and reflection on the tragedy of the Holocaust, focusing not on death but on the life that emerges from it.

The visitors then arrived at the ORT Centro campus, where they were welcomed by the rector Universidad ORT Uruguay, Dr. Jorge Grünberg, and the executive director of ORT Uruguay, Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg.
During the event, Dr. Grünberg gave an institutional presentation, followed by a talk by Prof. Isidoro Hodara on Uruguay and the Jewish community, and a reflection by Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg on her personal history as a Holocaust survivor and on the book *The Girl Who Watched the Trains Leave*, written about that period of her life by the Uruguayan author Ruperto Long and published in more than 15 countries.
