There is a great deal of scientific knowledge that never leaves the lab, and many talented people in data, design, business, or communication who believe that biotechnology isn’t for them. At this event, we’ll discuss what it means to be an entrepreneur in science, what obstacles arise along the way, and how the hackathon format (diverse teams, focus, rapid prototyping, and mentoring) helps participants take that first step and grow professionally (beyond just entrepreneurship).
In addition, the Biotech 2026 Hackathon will be presented—the most direct gateway to this journey—featuring six challenges in biotechnology and artificial intelligence applied to human health, animal health, food, and the environment.
This talk is for you if:
- You have a background in biology, biochemistry, medicine, agronomy, or other sciences, and you want to take your knowledge to the next level.
- You have a background in programming, design, business, or communication, and you want to apply your skills to real-world problems.
