  He holds a Ph.D. in Social Communication from Austral University. He is a full-time faculty member and researcher and the Secretary of Research in the School of Communication at Austral University, as well as a faculty member and researcher at the University of Salvador and the National University of San Martín, where he directs the Master’s Program in Education, Languages, and Media. He is the director of the Investigar en Red project, which brings together faculty researchers from 40 universities in 9 Latin American countries dedicated to investigating the news consumption habits of journalism and communication students in the region.

  He works as a researcher and consultant on various topics related to technology, education, and youth. He served as an educational advisor for Plan Ceibal and as a researcher for the National System of Researchers (ANII). He is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist for children, adolescents, and adults.

  Romina, B.A. Díaz

  Romina Díaz Cibils holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design with a specialization in Textiles from the Escuela Universitaria Centro de Diseño (EUCD) at the University of the Republic. She has been professionally involved in the fashion industry for ten years, a career that began with her work as a designer for various Uruguayan brands and later led her to found The Garment, her own clothing brand, with a vision centered on body diversity and fashion as a tool for self-expression. 

  She currently works as a journalist and content creator, focusing particularly on topics related to fashion, body image, diversity, gender, and digital culture. She also hosts “Lo que quieren las Wachas,” a streaming show on Aweno TV. 

  She participated in the drafting and promotion of the proposed Size Diversity Bill in Uruguay, which addresses inclusion and body diversity in the apparel industry. 

  Her work on social media combines communication, fashion, and activism, and she has built a community through which she addresses issues that spark conversation and debate in the digital sphere, including hate speech, fatphobia, and gender-based violence.

  She is a professional in the tourism industry with experience in sales, marketing, and operations, primarily in the hotel industry, as well as in the restaurant and travel agency sectors. has experience in the corporate and leisure markets, e-commerce, events, and conferences.

  She has gained experience in the areas of marketing and corporate communications, and has participated in corporate social responsibility initiatives and quality coordination processes, working on the harmonization and standardization of procedures.

  He also has experience as an instructor, specifically in marketing courses within tourism-related degree programs, as well as in various media outlets, where he worked as a journalist and content producer.

  He currently serves as the Development and Communications Coordinator for the School of Communication at the Universidad ORT Uruguay. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences from the Universidad ORT Uruguay , and a technical certificate in Hospitality from ITHU.
