The accelerating adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) systems in the manufacturing, service, and government sectors poses challenges that go beyond the technical realm. In this context, the Graduate School of Communication and Design is offering this series of sessions as a forum to understand the social and cultural impact of AI and to reflect on how to approach it responsibly in the design and development of digital products.

In this session, the event aims to explore the relationship between artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and regulation, examining the process of building AI systems and the tensions that arise when they are implemented.

The panel will take the form of a discussion, during which participants will analyze the various stages of AI system development and the legal and regulatory challenges these systems face when deployed on digital platforms and services.

The event will also include presentations of real-life cases, which will allow participants to analyze specific situations and understand the challenges posed by the development and use of these technologies in different contexts.

The event is part of a series that brings together academic, institutional, and professional perspectives around four strategic themes: data and digital platforms; the fundamentals and tensions of responsible AI; the design of digital products with an ethical focus; and the construction of narratives about an alternative technological future to the present one.
