Both lectures were given by Industrial Designer Alberto Arias Van Lierde, director of the Department of Product Design Research at the National University of Mendoza, Argentina.

"Design Without Borders" took place on October 13, 2004, in the auditorium of the Downtown Campus. D.I. Arias analyzed the new paradigms shaping the field of design, as well as the challenges, proposals, and conclusions regarding operational models that can be applied to various areas of professional practice.
Meanwhile, "Interdesign of Wine," held on October 14 in the auditorium of the School of Communication and Design, addressed the value of design in the wine industry, presenting a specific case study that analyzed how design helped position a region of Chile and achieve global recognition.
