On the evening of Wednesday, May 28, in the auditorium of the Pocitos Campus of Universidad ORT Uruguay, the 59 new graduates of the Real Estate Agentand Interior Design Technician and Landscape Design Technician received their diplomas at a ceremony filled with emotion, vision, and recognition.
Opening Remarks
The event began with opening remarks by Santiago Romero, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, who thanked the officials presiding over the ceremony for their presence: the dean, Architect Gastón Boero; the academic secretary, Paula Kramer; and the academic coordinators Paula Rial, Dr. Michelle Fleitas, Architect Ricardo Chelle and Paula Ceretti, BA.

Services for Graduates: Three Key Tools
The Architect Agustina Holly, graduate coordinator, congratulated the new professionals and reminded them that“graduation is not the end of a journey, but the beginning of a new chapter.”

He also presented three highly valuable resources available to the ORT alumni community:
- Job Portal: unlimited access to job searches and the ability to save applications.
- Career Counseling Service: free advice on resumes, interviews, and career development.
- Workshops for graduates: talks on industry trends and job skills.

Next, each academic coordinator presented certificates to the graduates of the three short-term programs, recognizing their dedication throughout the training process.

Reflections from the Dean
Architect Gastón Boero, dean of the School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay, highlighted the social value of the disciplines and the students’ achievements:“Today is a day of celebration: we are celebrating the hard work you have all put in over the years,” Boero said.

Addressing each specialty, he reminded interior designers that “90% of our time is spent indoors,” calling on them to create sustainable and inclusive environments.
He described landscape architects as “guardians of the balance between human activity and nature,” and he pointed out to real estate developers their responsibility to “facilitating the dreams of those seeking a place to live, work, or grow.”
He concluded his remarks by urging professionals to practice their professions “with excellence, ethics, and a vision for the future.”
