The School of Business and Social Sciences enrolled more than 970 students. Of those, more than 600 are starting the first semester of their college careers. These figures represent one of the highest enrollment numbers in recent years.
A growing academic community
The start of the school year marks a pivotal moment for hundreds of young people embarking on their academic journey. Universidad ORT Uruguay a wide range of technical programs, undergraduate degrees, and graduate programs, with students enrolling in various fields of study.

The increase in enrollment and the expansion of academic offerings reflect a trend that extends beyond any single institution. The growth of the university system means more opportunities for education, research, and knowledge creation.
A renovated campus
The start of 2026 also brings new facilities to the college, designed to enhance the experience of those who study and work on campus.
Over the past few months, renovations were carried out to create more spacious, bright, and functional spaces, designed to support new approaches to learning, collaboration, and teamwork.

In addition to these improvements, the Business School building opened last October, a development that has strengthened the Pocitos Campus. The school’s executive and graduate programs are all housed there.
The new spaces include study areas, classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and environments designed to encourage interaction among students, faculty, and professionals.
First cohort of the Bachelor's Degree in Finance
Among this year's new offerings, the Bachelor's Degree in Finance stands out as a new academic program that has been very well received by students since its launch.
The program was designed to meet the growing demand for professionals specializing in financial analysis, capital markets, investment management, and financial planning. Its curriculum combines theoretical foundations with practical tools and technologies used in the industry.
The high demand for this degree program confirms the growing interest in fields related to finance and business, as well as the need for specialized training in these areas.
HyFlex® Format: Study with Greater Flexibility
TheHyFlex® model has become a hallmark of the university's educational approach. This system allows students to attend classes in person on campus or join the live class via the online platform.
This format offers greater flexibility and autonomy, as each student can tailor their learning experience to their own needs and circumstances. At the same time, it maintains direct interaction with faculty and peers, a central aspect of university life.
Today, it is a key tool for expanding access to higher education and promoting more personalized academic paths.
Welcome to the Class of 2026
In the week leading up to the start of classes, the faculty held welcome events for the Class of 2026—gatherings designed to welcome new students and support them as they begin their college journey.
About 100 students attended the orientation for technical programmes, while nearly 300 gathered for the orientation for university degree programs. During these events, students had the opportunity to meet the academic coordinators, program representatives, and their classmates, getting their first taste of university life.
With new students, renovated facilities, and an academic offerings that continue to expand, the faculty is kicking off a new academic year by strengthening a dynamic and growing university community. The start of 2026 thus marks a new phase of learning, exchange, and development for the students, faculty, and professionals who are part of the university’s academic life.
