Álvaro López: from Uruguay to the United States

Álvaro López — a graduate of the Management Development Program at the Universidad ORT UruguaySchool of Business Universidad ORT Uruguayis the co-founder and CEO of Brocsoft.

This company specializes in staff augmentation and dedicated teams. It connects highly qualified developers from Latin America with U.S. companies that need to expand their teams in an agile and efficient

Today, he works with companies to help them scale their software development teams in record time.

With prior experience in the startup ecosystem, López decided to focus on one of the industry’s major needs: access to tech talent. And so Brocsoft was born, with the goal of assembling development teams in as little as 24 hours, with candidates who are pre-screened and ready to immediately join international projects.

“Companies in the United States face enormous pressure to hire quickly without sacrificing quality. We solve that dilemma. We offer nearshore, in the same time zone, at competitive rates, and with seamless integration into their teams,” he explains.

Evolution and Resilience

The company's growth has had its ups and downs. Brocsoft was founded in 2018 as a remote and agile—a model that allowed it to make a seamless global transition to remote work in 2020. In 2021, the company expanded into the United States, but the following year, with the tech market downturn, the company suffered a major setback; 2023 was a year of restructuring and survival: lean structures, a focus on execution, and a flexible culture that allowed the company to pull through.

In a short time, Brocsoft established itself as a strategic partner for seeking to optimize their software solutions.

After seven years in business, the company now works with more than 50 partners spread across Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Costa Rica, and coordinates a network of more than 150 pre-approved developers ready to join new projects.

Based in Uruguay with a presence in Austin, one of the leading technology technology hubs United States, Brocsoft currently operates in eight Latin American countries. It serves companies in sectors such as healthcare, fintech, retail and marketing, and is preparing to expand its reach into new markets.

For López, the goal is clear:

“We want Uruguay to show that it is possible to create companies that export value to the world. Our vision is to continue connecting Latin American talent with the major technology hubs in the United States.”
