The School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay you to attend the conference “Italian Sculptors and Public Monuments in Uruguay”, an event that will explore the contribution of Italian artists to the country’s monumental heritage.
The presentation will be given by Ernesto Beretta and will feature a presentation by Prof. Juan Andrés Brescianofrom the University of the Republic (Uruguay). The event will take place on Tuesday, June 16, at 7:00 p.m., at the Italian Cultural Institute in Montevideo.

The lecture offers a broad overview of the influence of Italian artists on the shaping of Uruguay’s monumental landscape, within the context of urban modernization and the beautification of public spaces.

During the event the contribution of sculptors trained in Italian academies to the creation of busts, statues, and sculptural groups located in squares, parks, and avenues in various cities across the country.
