ORT teachers share updates on the use of AI in education

The Pocitos Campus of Universidad ORT Uruguay a conference on educational innovation focused on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education.

The event, which took place on February 26, brought together the leaders of 15 selected projects—which have been underway since August 2024—with the aim of sharing progress and lessons learned.

As part of ORT’s People project, and organized by the Office of the Provost and the Center for Continuing Education in Higher Education (CAES), the event was attended by 24 faculty members from various schools. This initiative facilitated a valuable exchange of experiences and fostered collaboration on the integration of AI into teaching strategies.

Institutional Commitment to Innovation

The event reaffirms Universidad ORT Uruguay commitment Universidad ORT Uruguay integrating new technologies into the academic environment. It is in line with the educational initiatives promoted by the dean of the School of Engineering, Eduardo Mangarelli, as well as with the initiatives developed by CAES and the various schools.

Challenges and Advances in Teaching with AI

During the event, teachers discussed key topics such as:

  • Student motivation and learning through AI tools.

  • Strategies for encouraging active participation in class.

  • Challenges and adjustments in teaching practice, based on experimentation and innovation.

The event facilitated a valuable exchange among faculty members from various fields, including Design, Engineering, Communication, Business Administration, Social Sciences, and Architecture, who shared their perspectives and insights.

The ideas and insights gained from this activity will help enrich teaching strategies at the university, benefiting both faculty and students.
