ORT's School of Engineering sponsored a project of historical and cultural significance

October 31, 2003
The presentation of the project *Páginas vivas: Books That Shaped Our Identity*, developed by Silvia Spinak and Virginia Píriz, took place at ORT.

The goal of this project is to preserve part of Uruguay’s educational and cultural heritage on a single medium—a set of two multimedia CDs.

For this reason, the authors have surveyed more than 540 texts dating from 1584 to the present.

Dr. Miguel Bresciano, Director of Student Affairs at ORT, presented "Living Pages: Books That Shaped Our Identity."

The event was attended by Dr. Roberto Cucuzza, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Luján, Argentina.

The ORT School of Engineering sponsored the development of this project in partnership with UNESCO Montevideo, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the National Historical Museum, the National Cultural Heritage Commission, the Montevideo Departmental Board, and the University of Distance Education in Madrid (Spain).
