The selection of the project served as recognition of the students’ work in the “Fashion Event Design and Production” course, as it was included in the program of an international event dedicated to exploring the connections between fashion, performance, and contemporary creation.
An academic project with an international scope
The fashion film was created by a group of seventh-semester students in the Fashion Design bachelor’s program, based on the “Protesta!” collection, which was presented in July 2025 during a fashion show held at Carrasco International Airport. That collection served as the inspiration for the audiovisual piece, which was later selected for inclusion in the PONTE program.
Participation in the event serves as recognition of the students’ creative and academic work, as they showcase their projects in an international setting dedicated to the relationship between fashion, performance, and contemporary audiovisual languages.
In addition to raising the project’s international profile, Protesta!’s presence at PONTE strengthens the ties between the Universidad ORT Uruguay with forums for exchange that promote reflection on and the dissemination of contemporary fashion design practices.
Fashion and Performance
PONTE is an international event that brings together artistic, academic, and experimental projects related to fashion design and performance. The 2026 edition featured workshops, symposia, exhibitions, fashion film screenings, and a fashion show-performance, promoting exchange among institutions, designers, researchers, and artists from different countries.
In this context, *Protesta!* was included in the official selection of fashion films, sharing the program with international productions that explore new forms of expression through fashion and audiovisual media.
