In 1998, Ignacio began pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Management and Administration. In 2003, he joined Hiddenbed, shortly after the company launched in Uruguay. He recently began working as an Executive Assistant at the Hotel L’Auberge in Punta del Este.
Ever since he was a child, Ignacio has been fascinated by the hospitality industry and management in general.
I've always liked the idea of understanding how a business works. I wanted to study business administration first and then specialize in the hospitality industry.
After graduating from high school, Ignacio decided to attend ORT University. “I enrolled on the recommendation of a businessperson who was a friend of my family; he spoke very highly of ORT’s students and graduates. Plus, I liked the schedule, which allowed me to work and study at the same time.”
He highlighted the academic system. “The required courses were essential for learning how to work as part of a team and for selecting my own work group.”

He also says he had excellent professors from whom he learned a great deal. “The professors’ contributions in various fields—and even on a personal level—were invaluable.”
Ignacio described Hiddenbed as “a company that developed a mechanism that allows you to have a bed and a desk in the same space.” There, he led the expansion into the Uruguayan market for three years and was in charge of the sales and assembly teams.
"I served as the link between suppliers and customers, and I also handled marketing, promotion, and product development," he recalled.
He recently joined the Hotel L'Auberge in Punta del Este as an Assistant Manager. "I'll have to work for a few years before I can think about specializing in the hospitality industry, but I hope that combining work and studies will help me grow both personally and professionally."
Ignacio noted that throughout his studies, he was able to build a network of peers. “I met some incredible people, and I’m still in touch with many of them.”
