Architect and Psychologist Paula Rial and Professor Cecilia Sgarbi will present the lecture “Designing and Building: Patios, Terraces, and Balconies” on Thursday, April 24, at 6:00 p.m., while Architect Eliseo Cabrera will give the talk “Green Architecture: The Case of Singapore” on Friday, April 25, at 4:00 p.m.
Design and build: patios, terraces, and balconies
Rial, academic coordinator of the Landscape Design Technician program, and Sgarbi, a professor of Plant Material Management in that program, will explore the keys to designing and building functional, aesthetic, and sustainable outdoor spaces.
Green Architecture: The Case of Singapore
Cabrera, academic coordinator of the Specialization Diploma in Sustainable Architecture and an energy efficiency specialist, will analyze green urban planning strategies in the case of Singapore.

The three professionals combine academic training and practical experience in sustainable architecture and landscape architecture in Uruguay. Paula Rial is a landscape architect and instructor for Workshop 1 and the Landscape Architecture Workshop; Cecilia Sgarbi directs La Protea Paisajismo; and Eliseo Cabrera, in addition to his role at ORT, leads La Casa Uruguaya, winner of the 2015 Solar Decathlon and the 2016 Energy Efficiency Award.
