International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust 2025

On the morning of January 27, the Standing Committee of Parliament held a special session to honor the victims of the Holocaust, as part of the International Day of Commemoration established by the United Nations. During the ceremony, the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and extermination camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau was highlighted.

On Monday, the 27th, at 8:00 p.m., the Deputy Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, Mariana Cabrera, will deliver an official address on behalf of the Executive Branch. The address will be broadcast on national radio and television.

On November 1, 2005, the United Nations General Assembly designated January 27 as the annual International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. This date marks the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945 by Soviet troops, the 80th anniversary of which will be observed in 2025.
