The School of Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and a Technical Diploma in Graphic Design, with the aim of training professionals capable of conceiving, developing, and communicating effective visual solutions.
These proposals not only address the needs of the environment, but also help transform the way people engage with messages, brands, and contemporary visual culture.
In addition, to highlight the field of graphic design, events such as "Books in Progress: Graphic Experimentation and Materiality" are organized—an exhibition focused on experimental books designed by students in the " Printing Techniques 2 " course of the Bachelor of Graphic Design program.
In each book, the students worked with traditional methods such as screen printing and engraving. Using these techniques, the books were conceived not only as reading materials but also as design pieces in which form, imagery, and materiality play a central role.
In a world defined by the immediacy of digital technology, the workshop focused on rediscovering the pace and processes of analog technologies.
The inherent limitations of these techniques were transformed into creative opportunities, encouraging students to experiment, make decisions, and deepen their direct connection with the materials.
Thus, the exhibition brings together a series of works that view the book as a space for research and exploration, where the process of trial and error is essential.
Each project reflects a thoughtful approach to design, in which hands-on experimentation plays a key role in the training of designers.
The assignments and the course as a whole were led by Professor Gabriel Pasarisa during the second semester of 2025.
The young designers behind the projects featured in the exhibition were Luna Balbuena, Iara Carabajal, Martina Duarte, Alan Medina, Emilia Fernández, Luca Kalpokas, Valentina Mazzei, Luciana Larrea, Mariana Pivetta, Sofía Pereira, Valentina Roig, Valentina Cuitiño, Lucía Turielli, Pilar Porcal, Juana Ferrari, Julieta Braglia, Lola Fernández, Nathaniel Méndez, Francisco Origüela, Cecilia Ituño, Florencia Rojas, Guadalupe Acosta, Matías Mayo, Dana Szwarckopf, Camila Modernell, and Filipa Benvenutto.
The exhibition opened on April 16 and will remain open to the public through April 30.
